Gail Blesi, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who has worked with older adults and their families for over 20 years. Having long been interested in the inner workings of the brain, she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Psycho-Biology from UCLA and her Ph.D. in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. Dr. Blesi has had extensive training in her field.

Her work with older adults began in 1981 at the USC Andrus Gerontology Center. As Clinical Director of the Molecular Neurology Program at Huntington Medical Research Institute in Pasadena, Dr. Blesi developed a longitudinal study measuring brain function in normal adults and those afflicted with neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's. Over the years, Dr. Blesi has provided consultative and mental health services to individual families and dozens of assisted living and skilled nursing facilities throughout Los Angeles County.

Dr. Blesi witnessed the devastating impact of dementia on her own family after her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. She wrote Forget Me Not, Grandma in order to share some of the tools she used to help her own children understand what was happening to their grandmother.

Forget Me Not, Grandma is a tribute to Dr. Blesi's mother. It is written for all those who, in the face of one of life's most trying circumstances, struggle to maintain their sense of dignity and their bond of love.
